Our inner wisdom keeps sending us clues about what to do for our highest good. Are you catching your clues? Remember that Spirit, God, the Universe, your intuition—however you understand it—is there only for you, and so your clues will always come in ways that are easy to recognize and interpret. Last week, when my Clue movie posters never arrived, I thought, I don’t have a clue. I knew this thought was Spirit’s way of reminding me that I’m missing signals It’s giving me to move forward in some important way in my life.
The other day, the Clue mini poster arrived. So did an obvious, small clue from the Universe. As I was folding clothes on my bed, I heard a clattering noise from the adjacent bathroom. I thought it was the pipes gurgling, but when the sound repeated, I went into the bathroom to discover the source. Perched outside the frosted window over the tub I saw the silhouette of a small, red-breasted bird, much like the robins that signal the arrival of spring.
Every few seconds, it leapt up and fluttered its wings, struggling to fly into the window. Multiple times it barreled headlong into the glass. I watched, expecting it to realize it only needed to turn in order to fly free and get somewhere. It repeated the same effort the same way in the same direction so many times, I finally said aloud, “Figure it out, little bird. Just turn and you’ll fly.”
Because my current spiritual work is teaching people to FLY by living their First Last Year, my words resonated in my head as a clue from the Universe. Regarding marketing efforts for my book My First Last Year, I’ve been trying the same effort the same way in the same direction, and it has been like beating my wings against a sheet of glass. I’ve been getting nowhere.
Spring is here. In order to FLY and flourish during this season of new life, I have to try a new approach to getting word out about My First Last Year.
If you’ve been doing something that matters to you the same way for a while and you don’t feel the enthusiasm you used to, it might be time to try a new approach. Stop beating your wings against glass. Figure it out, turn, and fly.
If you don’t know how, watch for signs. Your inner wisdom is sending them to you all the time.
